ODEON help to transform Oldham’s Old Town Hall

A revolutionary seven-screen ODEON cinema multiplex is the centrepiece of Oldham’s £37m ‘Old Town Hall’ redevelopment plan, which after more than three years of construction is now open to the public.

The newly opened ODEON site is the first cinema in Oldham town centre for more than 30 years and is housed within a Grade II listed property. An extensive array of digital signage technologies has been developed by Saturn to give this historic location a futuristic aura, with large screen internal and external digital totems, digital posters and digital retail displays used.

Saturn worked closely with ODEON to deliver an immersive yet relaxed digital experience for their customers. With live film times feeding directly from the box office, retail promotions and upcoming movie trailers all being presented by Saturn’s Connect software in the right places and at the right times, customers feel connected and engaged throughout their journey in and out of the complex.

At the heart of the cinema is a 206-seat ISENSE theatre with a cutting edge Dolby Atmos sound system, which is one of only four cinemas in the country to hold this type of auditoria. The site also includes the preservation of a magistrate’s court that has been converted into a cinema screen, while retaining its original features.
