Saturn Visual Solutions wins ‘Breakthrough Culture Award’

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Saturn Visual Solutions has won the Breakthrough Culture Award: Growth Edition and has subsequently been named one of “The UK’s Most Loved Companies To Work For”.
The Breakthrough Culture Awards assess more than 5000 UK-based companies of all sizes and recognise and celebrate the best workplaces in the UK. They shine a light on companies that put people first and workplaces where people feel valued and genuinely happy to be.
The awards aim to highlight companies that are “worth paying attention to” then help other organisations to learn from them.
Organisations are chosen for the awards based on the employee initiatives they have implemented and by analysing their employee’s sentiments about the company.
Why Saturn’s workplace culture stands out
We make it our business to find the best staff we can and to look after them. We do this by focussing on the following six things:
- Good work/life balance
We help staff to achieve a good work-life balance by offering things like flexible working, special birthday leave, and we close for the Christmas period so staff don’t need to take it out of their leave allowance (but also offer the flexibility for those who don’t celebrate it to work those days). - Job satisfaction
We aim for staff never to dread Mondays and to always feel motivated, listened to, and appreciated. We offer subsidised training to support staff personal development, we offer discretionary employee appreciation bonuses, and we try to have a flat structure to give staff autonomy. - Physical & mental wellbeing
We do our best to help staff to be physically and mentally healthy and to work in a safe environment. We offer physical health support with a subsidised 24-hour GP advice helpline, and mental health support via company-funded mental health counselling sessions and a confidential counselling helpline. We’ve put systems in place to protect our staff when working alone, and we have subsidised nights out to strengthen work relationships. We also provide free fresh fruit for our staff. - Financial wellbeing
We help staff to have a good financial wellbeing. We do this via subsidised healthcare, free parking, and subsidised workwear. We also provide a company pension scheme with organised pension consultancy visits for staff to take advantage of. - Making it easy to be one of the ‘good guys’
We support our staff to be one of the good guys when it comes to equality, community support, and sustainability. We offer paid charity/community scheme volunteering time (e.g. mentoring), and we help staff to recycle, where practical (hardware & packaging). We’re also signed up to the ‘disability confident’ scheme. - A ‘family first’ ethos
We believe that by supporting our team both at work and at home, we create a nurturing environment where everyone can thrive. We offer discretionary compassionate family or bereavement leave/support so that our staff can be there for their loved ones when they need to be. We also have ‘death in service’ cover for our staff.
A word from our CEO, Chris Welsh
“We never set out to have a workplace culture that wins awards. We just believe we have a moral obligation to provide the best working environments we can, to ensure that all our staff – and by extension their families – have the most productive, fulfilled and enjoyable life they can whilst at Saturn.
“But we’re incredibly proud to have gone up against so many other companies in such a rigorous selection process and been picked out as the best.”
