At Saturn, we take our responsibility for ‘doing things properly’ very seriously.
We take pride in how we do things, and that our staff are given everything they need to do their jobs correctly and safely.
We also want to make sure that we have a positive impact on our community and the environment.
The activities we list below are just some of the things that Saturn is doing as part of its corporate social responsibility strategy.
Environmental
Our environmental policy complies with Government legislation and local government regulations. It ensures that we only work with registered carriers and recycle wherever possible.
Any electrical hardware we remove is disposed of in accordance with the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive. Any framework and cabling elements will be disposed of through an approved recycling centre.
We recycle all cardboard and polystyrene packaging wherever possible.
We also offer a kiosk and custom enclosure manufacturing service to our clients, enabling them to purchase UK-made products thereby helping them to reduce the carbon footprint of their projects.
Health & safety
We operate in line with the best practice set out by organisations like CHAS and the HSE.
All Saturn engineers hold current IPAF and PASMA qualifications demonstrating safe work at height.
Where appropriate, we will use a MEWP (Mobile Elevation Work Platform) to ensure the safe installation and removal of equipment.
Community
We always aim to have a positive impact on the places we operate in and support the local communities wherever possible.
We have two nominated charities. Better Things is a small, independent, Manchester-based charity. It works with people with learning disabilities and autism, delivering activities to improve their quality of life, helping people to overcome barriers, learn new skills and find appropriate employment. We support Better Things by donating funds, encouraging staff to volunteer on activity days, and by providing marketing support.
We also support Medicinema which builds and runs cinemas in hospitals to give long-term sick patients (adults & children) and their families an important break from the healthcare setting, which reduces patient anxiety, stress and isolation. We have donated electrical hardware and time via our installers and content creators to this charity.

We also aim to provide work experience opportunities where we can to help young people develop their skills and employability. We work with higher educational establishments (via Practera) providing their students with real world project briefs and giving guidance so they can apply their knowledge. We also support our staff to mentor young people at the beginning of their careers.
