Direct ATPI is a global business travel management company. It has a large, reusable exhibition stand which was to be used for the Business Travel Show, an leading industry event. They wanted to use digital signage to make it more dynamic and attention-grabbing to attract more stand visitors, and had a set budget to work with.
We worked with Direct ATPI to understand exactly what they were looking for, the space they would have available, the format of the stand, and the budget they had available.
They advised that their stand was modular and would be reassembled whilst it was on site at the conference centre, prior to the exhibition starting. As such there would only be a two-day time period to add any digital signage to the stand.
Direct ATPI originally suggested using totem displays, but we pointed out that people might struggle to see them properly in a crowded area, and that they would reduce the amount of space they had available on the stand.
We advised that they could swap the light boxes that were embedded within their stand for an LED wall. This would be much higher up and therefore visible from much further away, and wouldn’t reduce the space on the stand.
We worked with Direct ATPI and the company who were responsible for re-assembling the exhibition stand to identify the best way to retrofit an LED wall into it, and to plan exactly how that would be done.
Multiple options were discussed and investigated but halted due to logistical, health & safety or cost-efficiency reasons. It was eventually decided that the best solution was for a section of the wooden stand to be rebuilt and positioned at a different angle, and Saturn would design and build a bespoke bracketry system for the stand. This would make the installation of the LED wall faster and secure, ensuring the safety of the people standing underneath the display.
Prior to the event, we worked with Direct ATPI’s marketing team to understand their brand guidelines and marketing goals, which were to secure new business leads, promote their drinks reception (which they would use for networking), and support staff recruitment.
We subsequently created a suite of animated content that would sit well within the design of the exhibition stand, but would also attract attention and engage delegates.
We recommended that we schedule the content on the stand’s LED wall remotely using our SaturnVision software so that the Direct ATPI team could just turn up on the morning of the event and get on with all the other on-stand activity.
Although we would normally allow three days to build an LED wall of the same size and complexity (as bespoke bracketry was being used), test and adjust it, the LED wall on Direct ATPI’s exhibition stand was completed in less than one day and was ready in plenty of time for the show.
Direct ATPI exhibits at the same industry event annually and had significantly more delegates visit the stand that year than at any of the previous events. They also saw the desired level of attendance at their drinks reception, and volume of people joining their recruitment mailing list.
The display hire, content and other support services were all delivered within Direct ATPI’s set budget.
